*All Scripture quotations in ‘New Life in Luke’ are taken from the Authorised Version of the Bible.
Dear Friend,
The material for these Bible lessons is taken mainly from Luke’s Gospel. However, I have quoted from other books of the Bible, including the book of Acts which was also written by Luke. As you read through the lessons you will be introduced to various people.
People you will meet
A woman who was saved at the river side.
A child with two natures.
A virgin who gave birth in a stable.
A group of downtrodden, working-class people.
Men who followed a star.
An old man who could not die until he had seen the Saviour.
A twelve-year-old girl who was raised from the dead.
A tax collector sitting in a tree.
A man who came to his senses in a pigsty.
A man who wept when he heard a cock crow.
Two Important Questions
It is my prayer that as you read the Gospel of Luke and consider the Bible lessons you will discover the answers to two very important questions. These questions were first asked when Jesus and His disciples were in a boat, crossing a lake. The first question concerns Christ and was asked by His disciples immediately after Jesus had calmed a storm on the lake. They asked, ‘What manner of man is this!’1 We live in days in which many religions and cults present a distorted picture of who Jesus really is, so it is vitally important that we discover the truth concerning Him. He Himself said, ‘Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free’.
